Hot Yogi of the Month May 2018

Before having children there seemed to be soo much more time. Time to reflect, time to socialize and take part in activities, time to focus on pastimes and hobbies… then life got busy, family/career took over, life threw a few curveballs and suddenly… I forgot who I used to be! (I’m sure many people can relate.) I moved back to Muskoka and after being here a while I realized most areas of my personal and professional life were in some way serving others. I wasn’t doing anything to replenish myself and knew something had to change. I wanted to get back into some sort of physical activity and I also wanted to create the space to get in touch with the things I was once passionate about. 
While I was investigating options, a friend recommended I check out Muskoka Hot Yoga. I had done some yoga in the past and enjoyed it, so I thought why not try out the $40 Intro Special for 30 days of unlimited yoga. After that, I was hooked. Making yoga a regular practice has made a huge difference in all aspects of my life. Taking time for oneself can be challenging and it’s easy to say you “don’t have time”. What many people don’t realize is that yoga is not only an investment in your physical wellbeing but also your mental and emotional wellbeing. I look forward to coming to my mat and putting everything else aside for that hour. It’s really like a mini-vacation/refresher – my body feels better, my mind feels clearer and I feel so much more grounded and ready to tackle whatever life throughs at me.
